Public Boat Landings on the Shenandoah River Near Luray

A comparison of all eight free public boat landings on the South Fork Shenandoah River near Luray — ramp type and barrier-free status side by side.

Updated September 2, 2026

These eight public landings on the South Fork Shenandoah River are free to use for fishing and boating. None has restrooms, water, or shade, so plan accordingly. Only three — Fosters, Shenandoah Riverside, and White House — have a concrete boat ramp; the rest are informal bank access. Of the eight, only Shenandoah Riverside is barrier-free.

This page intentionally does not publish GPS coordinates or driving directions for each landing yet. The research behind this table draws on Virginia DWR’s own landing records, but exact coordinates for each site were not carried into this page in this pass — adding a real coordinate-based map view for all eight is a planned future enhancement, not represented here yet. Until then, the Virginia DWR public boating access map is the most reliable way to get driving directions to any of these eight landings; call the Virginia DWR fishing and boating line for current conditions before you go.
