Skyline Drive in Shenandoah National Park

Skyline Drive

A 105-mile scenic drive through Shenandoah National Park, with Thornton Gap as the closest entrance to Luray.

Skyline Drive is the 105-mile public road running the length of Shenandoah National Park, lined with overlooks over the Shenandoah Valley and Piedmont. Driving the whole route takes about three hours without stops — most Luray-based trips are better served by a shorter section near Thornton Gap rather than the full drive.

The Shenandoah National Park entrance fee applies, and the road itself can close for weather or conditions.
